Holistic Counseling and Consulting

Your presence matters.

You are not alone.

You belong here.

There is so much fear and uncertainty in our world today.

It’s hard to find the beauty in life or believe in humanity’s goodness when there’s suffering all over our planet.

Sometimes, it feels like we’re in a perpetual state of stress and grief. And with all the anger and polarization on social media, we’re growing further apart.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless, whether you’re worried about climate change, racism, gender inequality, income inequality, struggling with low self-esteem, relationships, or overcoming addictive behavior.

You believe in the power of love, kindness, and compassion and want to make a difference.

But how?

People tell you to lighten up, think positive, and even more annoying, you’re too sensitive.

Being sensitive means you care deeply and want to add to the light and love in the world. That’s a good thing! But here’s the challenge. You can’t do this alone.

Painful life experiences teach you to hide your vulnerability, be strong, and never ask for help. You’re afraid of being a bother or being rejected, so you isolate and avoid interacting with others. Then you feel even more lonely, disconnected, and like you don’t belong.

There is a way forward. But every path you take ends up being a closed door.

Maybe you’re thinking:

I thought when I finished school, got a job, found love, and made my mark on the world, I’d be happy.

Stuck and frustrated, you wonder:

How did I get here?

I try so hard to be a good person and help others.

Why don’t I feel more joy?

Am I the only person who feels this way?

When you give and give, people turn to you for help and expect you to solve their problems.

Your ability to respond and help others felt good initially. But now you’re starting to feel burned out and frustrated.

For years, you’ve hidden behind the mask of cheerfulness, so you can avoid conflict and not hurt anyone else’s feelings. But when you say yes and agree to do yet another thing you don’t have the time or energy for, a part of you longs to be acknowledged. But another part doesn’t want you to make a fuss.

Every time you ignore your feelings, you are saying to yourself:

I don’t count. I don’t matter.

You DO matter, and it’s time to fill your cup!

Suppressing your needs and feelings takes a toll on your self-esteem.

When you feel invisible and unappreciated long enough, your anger can’t help but bubble up. That’s when you eat a bag of cookies or drink too much to cope and end up feeling guilty and full of self-judgment.

All this stress is starting to affect your health. You have a sinking feeling there’s a connection between the emotional pain you’ve been stuffing down and the physical pain in your body.

When this happens, you feel disconnected from the light inside of you.

You probably think of yourself as spiritual but not religious. What if the cause of your pain is that you’ve lost your connection to light inside of you? What if you’ve forgotten who you truly are? We refer to this feeling as the “dark night of the soul.”

There is more to you than how much you accomplish and the roles you play in the lives of your family, friends, and community. A part of you is whole, complete, and connected to love. This inner part of you knows you don’t have to prove your worthiness. You were born with this innate goodness inside of you.

How do you reconnect with the light within?

Here’s some good news. It starts with extending compassion and loving-kindness to every part of you that you believe is unlovable and that your shame wants to hide. It isn’t even possible to lose your connection to the light. It’s just your awareness of it that got temporarily obstructed by the walls you built from painful life experiences, which made you doubt your loveability.

Let’s work together and illuminate
your pathway forward.

Imagine a life where you…

  • Experience more love, joy, patience, kindness, generosity, and self-awareness.
  • Feel more hopeful about the future, with a sense of inner calm and safety, regardless of your circumstances.
  • Free yourself from long-standing issues and heal from trauma.
  • Identify and express your feelings, so you get your needs met and increase your self-esteem.
  • Expand your capacity to give and receive love and create more supportive relationships.
  • Find your voice and lead with compassion.
  • Feel more connected to nature and a part of your community and the world.
  • Know that you belong and that your presence matters.
  • Clarify your purpose with renewed creative inspiration about how to use your talents to make a difference in the lives of others.
  • Increase your confidence in your intuitive guidance and inner wisdom.
  • Discover the hidden gifts buried in your pain.
  • Reclaim your ability to use the light and power inside of you for good in the world outside of you.
