Two of the many things I learned from my mother are to remember people’s birthdays and to write Thank You notes! I sent one of my beloved mentors a Birthday card to celebrate her presence in the world and she sent me the nicest Thank You note in return! I spent the last year writing a spiritual memoir (and took a break from social media to do it). In a nice synchronicity, I finished my first draft on the day Denise’s note arrived the mail.
Denise Linn has published over 25 best sellers, so when I read her kind words “ I know the world will be a better place when your books are spanning the globe!” this made my day (and I hung it on the fridge to keep me inspired). I’m sure my mother is smiling down from Heaven because she was right! Remembering people’s birthdays and writing Thank You notes are simple ways you can express gratitude, bring someone joy and encouragement, and let them know their presence matters!
If you are feeling depressed or overwhelmed, it can be hard to feel gratitude or even have the energy to send someone a birthday card, let alone feel joy. If you are experiencing this in your life, I’d love to help you with this. Are you on Instragram? I’d love to connect with you @Delighttheworld
I’ve always loved the word Delight! To me it means “of the light” and with all the darkness and fear in the world today, I wanted to create a place where we can gather together, restore our connection to the light and help one another to Delight The World with love, kindness, gentleness, beauty, compassion and grace. —Amy Rose, LCSW
